George Floyd and Protests

On this podcast I offer some observations on the current moment we are in as it relates to the murder of George Floyd and the resulting demonstrations.

I take a look at the words of Pontius Pilate in the Gospel of John when he says, “what is truth?”

Recently Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, “I don’t think that Facebook or internet platforms in general should be arbiters of truth.”

What do such statements mean for our ability to understand information we are receiving on social media platforms and the way information gets manipulated to serve extreme forces.

I take a look at how Christians think that truth is embodied in Jesus. What does that mean in this era of record unemployment? What does it mean for Christians of color, white Christians, people of various faith traditions, and people of conscience.

This moment teaches us that we can’t ignore the need for reform with law enforcement, racial equity and justice in education, environmental justice, and so much more.

Lastly I offer some practical tips on how to process this moment we are in.
