On today’s podcast I discuss the liturgical patterns of Holy Week in the Western and Eastern Christian Church. This year, Eastern Orthodox Easter is celebrated April 19 2020. From the forerunner themes of Monday and Tuesday, to Spy Wednesday and the betrayal of Jesus, to Maundy Thursday with its focus on the last Supper, the commemoration of Holy Eucharist, and the washing of the disciples feet, to the crucification on Good Friday, the profound silence of Holy Saturday, and the Glorious Resurrection on Easter Sunday.
I go through the various aspects of the week and in the resource section highlight some of the scriptures that are used on Holy Monday and Holy Tuesday.
